It looks like the reunion was a hit.  We welcomed in a new arrival (#3 - baby girl) just in time to keep me grounded in Denver.  Without the 20 years of history and context it is hard to appreciate the hair loss and new wrinkles found in the pictures.  I am sorry to have missed the chance to catch up.  Take care.

Steve Fulkerson from the Cary High Class of 1988 sent me a link to a transcript from a September 12, 2002 presentation that Jim Hotaling made detailing his service on the ground in Afghanistan in 2001. Jim was an Air Force Combat Controller who served on the ground behind enemy lines and helped coordinate bombing strikes on enemy forces. Thank you, Jim, for your service and making the Class of 1987 proud. Excerpt from Jim Hotaling’s presentation: “So we talk it through and what is the best way to disperse 300 screaming, crazy Afghanis? How about a low pass with a B-52? That is exactly what we did. No need to drop bombs on the villagers, they were just getting crazy, but it was enough to scare the hides off of them and the problem was solved.” http://www.afa.org/media/scripts/afsoc2k2.asp

So sorry I could not be there to see everyone. My husband Dean and I and our five kids are Baptist Missionaries in Arusha, Tanzania, near Mt. Kilimanjaro. We have been here for a little over four years. It has been an awesome and life changing experience. Thanks for sending me the contact to the website. I will send some pics. of life here.

To Steve, Russ, Christine, Shari and anyone else I may have left out...THANK YOU for one enjoyable day and evening. I had so much fun and it was really great to see old friends. I recognized most of you but it seems that not one person recognized me including Kevin Walker who I dated for over 3 years. What's up with that? Again, thanks to everyone who made this reunion such a success.

AMAZING reunion Steve! My husband and I had such a great time. It was so overwhelming to see so many old friends in the same room again! I look forward to the events to come in the future. I also hate that I did not have a late night sitter and was not able to make it to Keith's house to talk to the chickens with Rusty! Keep me posted future parties, Keith! I live right down the street from you! :)

I definately would love to start doing these every five years, so we don't have to wait so long to see each other. Thanks to Steve, Christine, Russ, Shari and everyone else who contributed to make this an event none of us will soon forget. Til next time, everybody take care!!

Wow!...Did anybody get the number of that bus. Jennifer woke me up when we were on the plane headed back to Ft. Worth, TX. Can anyone tell me how I ended up in Keith Flinchum's back yard talking to chickens??? What a great time! To see everyone's smiling faces was priceless for me! Thanks Steve, Christine, Sheri and everyone who helped to make it happen. I'll be ready for our 25th. PS. Jenny's nose is fine Ellen.

If you get a chance, please read Andrew Burt’s terrific update in the CLASSMATES section about his service in Iraq after September 11th. I read it after I came back from catching up with Marty Martin, who told me about his own service in Iraq for Operation Desert Storm in the early 1990s. This should also be the day Chris Forsythe ships out to start his tour of Iraq in the Army. It is amazing to me that we have had classmates serve in war zones shortly after we graduated and now as we are having our 20th Reunion. If you have served your country in the Armed Services in war or peacetime, please tell us about it in the CLASSMATES section and post some pictures, because we all want to thank you for your service.

20 years is unbelievable. It's gone by so fast. It's amazing to see 2007 on the Cary water tower. I've stayed in the Cary area and just started a new job/career at SAS. It was time to start something new. I look forward to seeing a bunch of familiar faces at the reunion. Steve, the website is terrific. Many kudos to you and all involved in putting it together.

Hey everyone! I went to Athens Drive from East Cary, but did do half a year at Cary High in my sophmore year. I felt more at home there. Unfortunatly life took me in other directions and I now live in Fuquay Varina area(Willow Springs). I have 2 sons, 18 and 12. I am a happy single mom, working for the great State of NC(actually at the DMV). I see alot of familiar faces on here and wonder about alot of others. Don't know that I will make it to the reunion, but please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. The site is GREAT!

It is truly amazing that 20 years have come and gone since we all walked down the aisle. Life has been an interesting journey for us all. Steve, the site is very well laid out and I hope that everybody enjoys the reunion. Unfortunately, my wife Tracey, 8 year old Daughter Mikayla and I will be out of town. I see names of old friends and wish I was there to see you, but family does take a small priority. Have fun and God Bless! Travis

Hey everyone...I am looking forward to seeing you all very soon. I have lived in Tampa, FL since 1995 but visit "home" usually 3 times a year. My family still lives in the area. I have 2 children...a 12 year old daughter and an 8 year old son. Steve, I want to let you know that I appreciate ALL that you are doing and have done to make our 20 year reunion spectacular and memorable. You have made this possible for me and everyone else in our class. The dedication you have given to this event is phenomenal. You should really be proud of yourself for what you have achieved. Because of your efforts, I have renewed past relationships with friends that I should have kept up with over the years and should be ashamed of myself because I didn't. I cannot wait to hear what everyone has accomplished since 1987! 20 years has certainly flown by for me.

I work remotely for a computer software company called DataDirect Technologies that is based in RTP, NC - so I make it back to Cary occasionally. Looking forward to seeing old (literally) friends!
